The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, participated in the international conference on the theme “Development of the legislation through the application of constitutional norms”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitutional Court.
During her speech at the event, attended by the heads of the constitutional courts of Azerbaijan and other countries as well as representatives of state institutions, the Ombudsman S. Aliyeva congratulated the Chairman and the staff of the Constitutional Court on their anniversary and wished them further success in their activities.
She noted the close cooperation between the Ombudsman Institution and the Constitutional Court, highlighting that over the Ombudsman's 40 inquiries addressed to the Constitutional Court have been reviewed, and relevant decisions and rulings have been adopted.
The Ombudsman emphasized the significant progress the Constitutional Court has made over the past 25 years and taken proper place in the national judicial system. She also acknowledged that the Constitutional Court has made essential contributions to the protection of human rights and freedoms, noting its successful fulfillment of the responsibilities entrusted to it.
Later, during the event, the publication titled "Mutual Cooperation between the Ombudsman and the Constitutional Court: Compilation of Acts for 2002-2022 years" was presented.
