The Staff Member of the Ombudsman Office has participated in the event dedicated to the women's rights

Sabuhi Abbasov, the head of the Western Regional Center of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, has participated in the event dedicated to women’s rights in the framework of the project "If a woman smiles, humanity will smile", run by the "Shamkir Women Resource Center" Public Union and funded by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

S. Abbasov, speaking at the event, has given information about the activities of the Commissioner in connection with the promotion and provision of gender equality as well as the protection of women’s rights.

It has been stated that appeals concerning violence against women, as well as domestic violence and cases of early marriage, are promptly investigated by the Ombudsman Institution, and condition and psychological state of the victims are studied, measures are taken in order to restore violated rights.
