The Ombudsperson participated in the international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Supreme Court

Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the international conference dedicated to the topic "Role of Supreme Courts in justice: best practices and modern challenges" held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court in our country. The conference was attended by officials of a number of state institutions, as well as representatives of the supreme courts of other countries.

In her speech, the Ombudsperson said that as a result of legal reforms carried out under the initiative and leadership of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, effective legal protection mechanisms and a modern judicial system were formed in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms, and this policy is successfully continued today. She spoke about the important role of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the effective implementation of justice in the country.

S. Aliyeva noted that efficient cooperation has been established between the Ombudsman institution, the Supreme Court and other judicial bodies in the field of protection of human rights, and this cooperation is successfully continued while examining appeals addressed to the Commissioner for the protection of human rights and freedoms in court proceedings, developing opinions and proposals on normative-legal acts that serve to improve the judicial-legal system, and increasing the knowledge and skills of judges as well as candidates for the position of judges participating in the courses organized at the Academy of Justice.
