Before making any statements, high-ranking officials of international organizations should first rely on justified and reliable sources and also feel the responsibility for their statements on such a sensitive issue. But I would like to note with regret that sometimes such high-ranking officials make irresponsible statements without any knowledge of the matter. This not only damages the reputation of the organization they represented, but also raises legitimate public doubts about their fairness and impartiality.
In response to the recent statement made by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Volker Türk, regarding the peaceful action on the Lachin-Khankendi road, I would like to put a question to the distinguished Commissioner.
"Dear High Commissioner, I suppose you have information about trucks carrying food, medicines, and basic goods that have been hindered by protesters from civil society organizations on the Lachin-Khankendi road. "Please share this information with us so that I can take some appropriate action as the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan." Otherwise, your statements will be no more than just groundless accusations against Azerbaijan.
