The Ombudsperson received representatives of the World Bank

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva received the delegation led by a Gender Specialist of the World Bank Nato Kurshitashvili.

During the meeting, the Ombudsman gave the guest extensive information about the main areas of her activity and the work done in the field of international cooperation. It was noted that upon the initiative of the Ombudsperson, wide awareness measures are being implemented in the regions to increase awareness in the field of ensuring gender equality.

Emphasizing the importance of increasing the knowledge of the young generation in the field of gender, the Ombudsperson noted that she teaches the subject "Introduction to Gender" at Baku State University.

S. Aliyeva also said that taking into consideration her initiative vocational schools have started to operate in penitentiary institutions so those female convicts can occupy their rightful place in society.

In the end, the guest expressed her gratitude to the Ombudsperson for the warm reception and useful exchange of ideas, also shared her thoughts regarding the future cooperation.
