Ombudsman had a meeting with a new ICRC Representative appointed to Azerbaijan

The Ombudsperson Ms. Sabina Aliyeva had a meeting with the former head of the ICRC in Azerbaijan Ms. Arian Bauer due to the expiring her tenure and a newly appointed ICRC Representative to the country Ms. Dragana Kojic for getting acquaintance.  

Greeting the guests, the Ombudsperson gave information about the ICRC activities carried out in the country, and the cooperation built between the Ombudsman Office and ICRC. Recalling the situation of 3890 Azerbaijanis who went missing during the First Karabakh War, highlighted the importance of increasing efforts to solve the issues during the postwar period.  

During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation perspectives. The significance of organizing awareness-raising events on the promotion and implementation of international humanitarian law norms.

The Ombudsperson thanked Ms. Bauer and wished her success in her future career and congratulate Ms. Kojic on her appointment.

Meanwhile, the guests expressed their gratitude to the Ombudsperson for her warm reception. Ms. Kojic expressed her confidence in further developing mutual cooperation with the Ombudsman Institution.
