The forced marriage and pregnancy of a teenage girl from Surakhani district were investigated by the Ombudsman Office

The information spread via mass media and social platforms about a teenage girl, living in the Surakhani district of Baku, who was forced into an act of marriage in Ganja city and got pregnant, was investigated by the Ombudsman Office.    

Regarding this case, relevant bodies, as well as her aunt were requested to enquire about the state of her health, education, and ensuring her rights.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, Executive Office and Police Department of the Surakhani District were appealed to take necessary measures to ensure further investigation of this matter and provision of the rights of the teenage girl.
