A representative of the Ombudsman participated in the UN Conference on “Role of the Women in Post-Conflict Rehabilitation”

The Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the UN Country Team in Azerbaijan jointly organized a conference on the topic “Role of the Women in Post-Conflict Rehabilitation: women, peace, and security”.  

The conference was moderated by the Chairman of the AIR Center, Mr. Farid Shafiyev, and an Assistant to the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ambassador Mr. Elchin Amirbayov, also the representatives of the UN, the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, the Parliamentary Committee on Family, Women, and Children and other bodies, as well as the Head of Provision of the Right of Access to Information Unit at the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan, Ms. Aynur Hamidova took part in the event.

Speaking at the conference, the staff member of the Ombudsman Office said that the protection of women's rights is one of the main activities of the Ombudsman. During the speech, it was also noted that the Ombudsman pays special attention to the elimination of existing gender stereotypes and strengthening the position of women in public life.
