Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva and staff of the Office commemorated the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva and the staff of the Office commemorated the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on the occasion of his death anniversary. 

The Ombudsman Office hosted an event dedicated to commemoration day, and a minute of silence was observed for the memory of the Great Leader.  

Speaking at the event, the Ombudsman spoke about the important role of Heydar Aliyev in the history of Azerbaijan. She stressed the importance of the role of the National Leader in the adoption of the first Constitution of independent Azerbaijan, the approval of state programs on human rights, and the establishment of the Ombudsman Institution in the country in terms of ensuring human rights and freedoms.  

On the death anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva visited the Alley of Honors together with the staff of the Office, laid flowers at his grave, and paid tribute to his memory. The Ombudsman also commemorated the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The Ombudsman's Regional Centers, together with other agencies, also organized commemoration events for the Great Leader with the participation of young people. During those events, information was given about the consistent, systematic, and forward-looking reforms with the return of the Great Leader to power. The participants were briefed about actions taken during the reign of the Great Leader to develop human rights. It was also noted that Heydar Aliyev's unparalleled services rendered as an exemplary Azerbaijani will not be forgotten, and his memory will be with us forever.
