Ombudsman of Azerbaijan received the Chairman of the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva received a delegation led by Mr. Abubakir ?ahin, the Chairman of the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK). The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Azerbaijan Mr. Cahit Bagci.

The Ombudsman spoke about the close friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, noting the importance of the moral support provided by the brotherly country during the Patriotic War. Aliyeva briefed the guests on the mandate of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, as well as her powers to ensure the right to information.

In his turn, Mr. Abubekir Shahin thanked the Ombudsman for organizing the meeting, gave detailed information about the powers of the represented organization and the experience in ensuring information related rights.

The guest said they closely followed the multidirectional activities of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman in the field of human rights protection and expressed his interest in cooperation.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the media, ensuring the right to information, human rights education of journalists, as well as other areas of future cooperation.
