The next awareness-raising event about the right to information was held in Shamakhi district

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held another awareness-raising event on the right to information at Heydar Aliyev Center in Shamakhi district.

The event was attended by representatives of Shamakhi District Executive Power, the District Police Department, the Education Department, the Regional Justice Department, Shamakhi District Department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, and other government agencies and local self-government bodies.

Deputy Head of the District Executive Power, Head of the Department of Socio-Political and Humanitarian Affairs, Ms. Mehriban Eyubova, Head of the Ombudsman's Office for Protection of the Right to Information Ms. L.Zeynalova, Head of the Promotion of the Right to Information Sector, Ms. A.Hamidova, and staff members of the Office took part in the event.

The representatives of the Ombudsman Office informed the participants about the existing international and national legislation on ensuring the right to information, the Commissioner mandate to control over the implementation of duties arising from the requirements of the Law "On Access to Information", and the work carried out for monitoring and analyzing.

Later, the presentation on the "Right to information" was presented at the event and the questions raised by the participants were answered.
