The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has launched another awareness-raising event about the protection of the right to information in Heydar Aliyev Center in Mingachevir city.
The event has brought together the representatives of the City Executive Office, district police department, prosecutorial authorities, city educational, health, and cultural facilities, as well as other information holding entities.
During the event, the staff of the Ombudsman Office, including Ms. L. Zeynalova, Head of the Protection of the Right to Information Department, Mahir Aliyev, Chief of the Legal Department at the City Executive Office and other employees of the Ombudsman Office have delivered speeches.
The information holding entities, participating in the event, were informed about the provision of the right to information, the responsibilities of the information-owners in the concerned field, the implementation of related inquiries, and the measures taken by the Ombudsman to monitor the implementation of the Law on Access to Information.
In addition, the participants were also informed about the existing international and national legislative frameworks in relation to ensuring the right to information.
In the end, the questions raised by the participants were answered.
