Online events were held by the Regional Centers of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman in Ganja, Sheki, Jalilabad, and Guba on the occasion of May 28 – the Republic Day.
Ganja Regional Center held an online event dedicated to Republic Day, jointly organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Youth and Sports Department of Agstafa district.
Sheki Regional Center together with the Sheki Central Library held a video-conference on "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - the first democratic republic of the East."
Jalilabad Regional Center jointly with the Heydar Aliyev Center, Lankaran Regional Culture Department, the city Pedagogical College, the History and Ethnography Museum and the secondary school No. 1 named after the poet M.A.Sabir in Astara district organized a videoconference titled "Glorious page of our history".
Guba Regional Center and city Centralized Library System launched a joint online event with the participation of active readers.
During speeches, it was noted that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, as the first parliamentary republic in the Muslim East was an example of a democratic, legal and secular state. The heads of Regional Centers spoke about the important human rights initiatives put forward by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic before many other countries.
Other participants speaking at the events noted that this year the Republic Day was marked in a triumphant mood and emphasized the important role of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the history of our statehood.
