The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva received Mr. Samuel Held, Deputy Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Azerbaijan.
The Ombudsman gave comprehensive information to the guest on the activities in various fields of human rights. It was noted that in accordance with the requirements of modern times, the Ombudsman Office prefers to use information technology tools in the process of receiving complaints and applications and informing the public.
Touching upon the activities of the newly established 916 Call Center, the Ombudsman also noted that the center receives citizens' appeals 24/7. It was noted that appeals are also received via online, also e-mail, post, fax, and social network accounts.
Speaking about the cooperation of the Ombudsman Office with international organizations, the Commissioner has noted that within the framework of this activity, work is underway to study new experiences in the field of protection of women's and children's rights, also fighting against domestic violence and discrimination.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the exchange of experience in relevant areas have also been discussed.
