National Preventive Group members conducted visit to Psychoneurological Social Service Institution No.4 in Ganja City

As instructed by the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) Ms.Sabina Aliyeva, the National Preventive Group members conducted a scheduled visit to Ganja Psychoneurological Social Service Institution No. 4 (public legal entity) of the Social Services Agency subordinated to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan.

The object of the visit, organized in conformity with the OPCAT and the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan was to assess the general situation in the facility, including treatment standards, ensuring the rights of patients here and to inspect the related documentation.

During the visit, the administrative and dormitory buildings, wards, canteen and food storage, and other units of the social facility were inspected.
During interviews with patients, nobody had complained about living or treatment conditions.However, it was revealed that there was a need in psychologist in the facility.

At the end of their visit, the NPM members recommended observing the sanitary and hygienic rules to get rid of COVID-19 infection during the special quarantine regime.
