As it is known, last week the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva attended a meeting of the Ombudsmen Association of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as also a Member of the Board of Directors and invited all member Ombudspersons to the country to get acquainted on the spot with the atrocities and superfluous damage caused to civilians and civilian objects attacked by Armenian armed forces.
The delegation headed by the President of the Ombudsmen Association and the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Mr. Şeref Malkoç paid an official visit to Azerbaijan.
On the first day of the official visit, the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva and the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Mr. Şeref Malkoç met with the Prosecutor-General of Azerbaijan, Mr. Kamran Aliyev.
The Prosecutor-General expressed his high appreciation that Turkey strongly condemned Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan, missile attacks on civilians and civilian settlements and made official statements on the matter. He also noted that through heavy artillery and missile shelling of Azerbaijani settlements by the Armenian armed forces since September 27, crimes against peace and humanity were committed against the civilians of Azerbaijan. It was also spoken about attacks on Ganja, the second largest city on 4, 11, and 17 October 2020 as a result of which many civilians were killed and badly injured because of those attacks, underlining also the fact that the Prosecutor-General's Office has already commenced a criminal case.
Mr.Malkoç thanked for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of mutual cooperation and the development of relations at a high level, noted efficient cooperation with the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan. He also said he would prepare a Fact-finding mission report based on the on-site findings and on the facts submitted by the Prosecutor-General's Office to send it to international organizations.
