New Unified Call Center of the Ombudsman has gone into operation

As a part of human rights reforms, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva continues the activites to exercise her role effectively taking account of the citizen’s satisfaction.  

According to the para.18 of the National Action Plan for the Promotion of Open Government for 2020-2022, approved by the Presidential Order of February 27, 2020, it was recommended to create a unified hotline for appeals to the Ombudsman to expand the citizens’ ability to file appeals and increase the efficiency of their consideration. 

Considering this suggestion the Ombudsman has established a unified call center 916 by combining the already existed two hotlines at one and using modern IT applications. 

Call Center can be reached at 916 from the city numbers, and 012-916 from the region and mobile numbers across the country. All calls are recorded and entered into the database electronically, which unlike the previous version, does not require a written request afterwards.   

Whilst establishing the call center, the relevant international experience was studied and staff in charge, have been trained accordingly in cooperation with UNICEF Country Office and Office of the Prosecutor-General. 

This new application implemented by the HRCA will ease and increase the effectiveness of the application procedures of people.
