Ombudsman’s Ganja Regional Center organized an online event on the topic “Patriotism is an effective mean for combating religious radicalism and extremism” together with Ganja city Youth Home, City Youth and Sport Department and City Department of the State Committee for the Work with Religious Organizations and active young people.
During the event, the issues related to a new level of state and religion relationship, built during the years of independence, care to religion at the state level and its attention paid to the concerned areas were among discussion topics. Delivering a speech at the event the Head of the Regional Center of the Ombudsman, Sabuhi Abbasov stressed that state-religion relations and inter-religious relations in our country are built on a sound basis. He has underlined that Azerbaijan is a multi-religious country, where people from various backgrounds coexist peacefully and friendly and in mutual understanding.
The participants shared with the information about good practices on the state and religion relationship, tolerance, accomplishments of fighting against religious radicalism and extremism at the national level.
The meeting was continued with interactive discussions.
