Monitoring was carried out in Guba city Secondary Boarding School for Children Deprived of Parental Care

In the frame of the National Preventive Mechanism activity of the Ombudsman, the National Preventive Group conducted scheduled visit to the Guba city Secondary Boarding School for Children Deprived of Parental Care subordinated to the Ministry of Education without prior notice.

The objective of the visit was to assess the detention condition and treatment of children held in the boarding facility by the staff members and the ensuring of the children’s rights.

NPG members monitored all facilities of the facility, including bedrooms and classrooms, dining room and canteen, rooms for leisure, the common area

At the end of the monitoring, NPG members conducted legal awareness talks with the administration of the boarding facility based on the national regulatory framework and international standards, including UN CRC and recommended to increase attention to realization and promotion of the child rights and to improve the general work and the documentation.
