Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman organized an online awareness videoconference

The videoconference on the topic “Indexing and accurate analysis of strategic information warfare technologies as one of the effective means of combating enemy” was organized on August 19, 2020, jointly by Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman, Astara district Heydar Aliyev Center and district Youth and Sport Department.

The representatives of Jalilabad Regional Center, Astara district Heydar Aliyev Foundation and district Youth and Sport Department, Astara district Education College, Youth wings of New Azerbaijan Party Astara branch, Logos Psychological Speech Development Center, “Shafak” Ecoturism Public Union and active young people have participated in this event.

In his speech the head of Jalilabad Regional Center, Ziya Ismay?lov spoke about the military provocative actions of the Armenian armed forces, mainly targeting civilian objects, constant violations of the ceasefire regime, severe atrocities of these military clashes, including deaths and injuries not only military servicemen, but also civilians, blatant violation of four UN Resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh and international humanitarian and human rights law. He noted that Armenia continues strategic information warfare against Azerbaijan spreading exaggerated and fake information.

It was also noted that one of the main national security issues in Azerbaijan that restored its independency, was the development and security of unique information policy, creating, protecting and managing the national information environment. On April 3, 1998, the Law “On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information” was adopted in Azerbaijan. According to the Presidential Decree “On measures to improve the activities in the field of information security”, for national information security, a comprehensive strategy has been started. As a State at war with Armenia, information security and non-dissemination of military information, which is a state secret, are the most important issues.

The videoconference also focused on the issues related to information security and its legal basis, the main features of the strategic information war, the development of ICTs, the detection of information warfare groups, their crimes and their motives, the details of the enemy’s information war against Azerbaijan and other important issues.

During the event, representatives of other organizations also underlined the importance of the topic discussed.
