Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman held an online event

Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman together with Jalilabad Youth and Sport Department and with participation of eight surrounding districts held an online event on the topic “Azerbaijani youth always supports the President Ilham Aliyev”. 

In his speech, the head of Jalilabad Regional Center, Ziya Ismayilov talked about regular violations of cease-fire regime and recent military provocations by the Armenian armed forces, targeting mainly the civilian objects, which resulted in death and injuries of civilians and combatants.

He said that military crimes committed by Armenia up today are blatant violation of international human rights and humanitarian law norms, including 1949 Geneva Conventions and that such military actions are still being continued. He stressed the recent military provocations that started on July 12, 2020, at the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border in the direction of Tovuz district of our republic, which was committed with use of heavy artillery during pandemic and cease-fire regime.

Z. Ismayilov said that the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has issued a Statement with regard to the above-mentioned to draw the attention of international community to the military provocative actions committed by the Armenian armed forces, including the atrocities of the last military clashes and carried out a fact-finding mission to Tovuz district and Tovuz district City Hospital that had been targeted during those clashes. Furthermore, it was added that S. Aliyeva has visited soldiers, injured during the clashes.

The participants of the online meeting expressed their hope for early liberation of the occupied territories. The meeting was continued with interactive discussions.
