Ombudsman participated in the Masters Thesis Defense as the Chair

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva has chaired the Specialized Scientific Councils established for defense of Master’s Theses in the LLM programs "Human Rights" and "Medical Law" of the Law faculty of Baku State University (BSU).

As it is known, now distance education is used taking account of requirements of quarantine regime enacted due to the novel COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, Master’s students have defended their research papers online via Microsoft Teams Platform.

Master’s theses have been written in Azerbaijani and English languages under the academic supervision of professor-mentor staff of the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and Information Law of the Law faculty of BSU.

The Commissioner for Human Rights, head of the Specialized Scientific Council, Ph.D. in Law, Sabina Aliyeva has pointed out the Masters' high level of academic and vocational potential, skills for conducting academic discussions and wished them success in their future endeavors. She also recommended paying more attention to academic topics in human rights field to develop education and research in this area.

In conclusion, Master’s theses were discussed, the submitted works were evaluated positively by voting. All of the seven masters participating in the online defense process got "excellent" marks.
