Ombudsman Office provided food aid to low-income families

As known, many persons are joining the action in support of the persons from socially vulnerable groups of population in response to Mr. President Ilham Aliyev’s slogan “We are strong together” and to the First Vice-President Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva’s call regarding isolation precautions during the special quarantine regime enacted in the country to fight COVID-19.

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan also joined this campaign to support the low-income families in Baku and regions by distribution of parcels containing various food products to the lonely persons aged over 65, as well as persons with disabilities, who live alone and cannot take care of themselves.

This is also very significant to provide financial and moral support to socially vulnerable population groups to the possible extent by different individuals, private companies or entrepreneurs in scope of corporate responsibility strategy in terms of improving welfare of those persons. This will also contribute to extensive promotion of this campaign realized under the slogans “We are strong together” and “Stay at home-Stay healthy”, which are of specific importance during the current special quarantine regime.

Once again, we call on the public to participate actively in such charity campaigns, which clearly show the attention and care to the socially vulnerable population groups.

We are strong together, stay at home, and be healthy!
