Staff members of the Ombudsman Office donate blood

Consecutive and purposeful activities are carried out in Azerbaijan in the fight against inherited blood diseases, consequently great progress has been made in this area. As a result of the care of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Ms.Mehriban Aliyeva, normal life conditions, as well as blood and its components are provided for the people with thalassemia, who undergo constant treatment in the Thalassemia Center of the Republic, thanks to the relevant measures. 

Taking into consideration the need for healthy human blood by children suffering from inherited blood disorders, including thalassemia, in our country, the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has  drawn the public attention to this issue for several times and organized blood donation campaigns at different times.

Several staff members of the Ombudsman Office have also donated blood on their own initiative to support the children suffering from thalassemia. 

It should be noted that blood trasfusion is of paramount importance in the treatment of thalassemia, which is an inherited blood disorder. The process of donating blood is performed under the control of the physician, and blood is only taken from persons, whose health conditions allow it.

The staff members of the Ombudsman Office call everyone, whose health and age is eligible for blood donation, to actively participate in this campaign.
