A group of staff members of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) visited the “Genocide” Memorial Museum of the Military Prosecutor’s Office.
Firstly, the bust to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern independent Azerbaijan, was visited in the administrative building of the Military Prosecutor’s Office.
The museum, established on the initiative of the Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Khanlar Valiyev and opened on February 24, 2014, is dedicated to the memory of tens of thousands of the Azerbaijanis who have been murdered since the beginning of the 20th century as a result of mass killings committed by Armenian-Bolshevik armed groups in Azerbaijani lands.
It was noted that this museum reflects a history that serves to preserving the memory of future generations of the Azerbaijani people about bloody events and to perpetuate the memory of victims of genocide.
A model reflecting joint attack to Khojaly city by Armenian armed forces and the 366th regiment of the former Soviet Army on the night from February 25-26, 1992, the occupation of Khojaly and the surrounding territories, was exhibited at the “Genocide” Memorial Museum, which consists of four sections - history, deportation-repression, genocide and terrorism.
There are also various documents and photos, as well as a number of other exhibits in the museum. Samples of explosives and bullets used by the Armenian terrorists during the attack are also kept in the museum.
During the acquaintance, detailed information was given about exhibits stored in here, reflecting historical facts, including the realities of Khojaly Genocide.
At the end of the visit, a documentary titled “Tragedy of the Century” based on historical documents, investigative materials and eyewitness testimonies was displayed that showed the acts of genocide and deportation committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people.
