Head of Ganja Regional Center of the Ombudsman took part in an event on child rights

Ganja Regional Territorial Department of the State Labor Inspectorate Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event on “Prevention of child labor exploitation”. The head of Ganja Regional Center of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabuhi Abbasov delivered a speech at the event.

Welcoming the participants on behalf of the Commissioner Sabina Aliyeva, S.Abbasov noted that one of the main directions in the Ombudsman’s activity is related to ensuring, protecting and restoring the rights of the child.

He noted that the complaints addressed to the Ombudsman regarding violation of children’s rights are being analyzed, and actions are taken to restore those rights. It was noted that the Ombudsman Office pays particular attention to legal awareness work aimed at implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the Rights of the Child”.

Activities carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of protection of children’s rights were also brought into attention, and views were exchanged on international practices.
