Ombudsman Office hosted an event with respect to the commemoration day of the National leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva talked about the invaluable services of the world’s famous public-political figure Heydar Aliyev in the history of statehood of Azerbaijan. The irreplaceable role of the great leader in improvement of mechanism of ensuring and protecting human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan was emphasized.
The Ombudsman noted that the historical services of the great statesman and leader Heydar Aliyev for the Azerbaijani state and people cover all the phases of his activity.
The Ombudsman noted the National leader Heydar Aliyev as the founder of the legal reforms in Azerbaijan and highlighted that implementation of judicial reforms, establishment of the Constitutional Court, Ombudsman institution and other necessary institutes, abolishing the death penalty, adopting the first National Plan of Action and other such steps guaranteed the successful implementation of the process of building legal state in the country. She mentioned that today the head of the country Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the policy established by the National leader Heydar Aliyev, and the reforms in all the areas, including in human rights field, are consistent.
Ganja, Sheki, Jalilabad and Guba regional centers of the Commissioner organized relevant events as well.
