As a result of ongoing measures implemented by the state authorities in Azerbaijan, in addition, seven citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including five children and two women, were repatriated to the country from the Syrian Arab Republic.
From this perspective, within the framework of the activities, the Ombudsman’s representatives held a meeting with the repatriates, who were placed in the social service institution of the Social Service Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and the situation regarding ensuring their rights was investigated.
At the meeting, the psychologist member of the National Preventive Group of the Ombudsman also assessed their psychological health.
The Ombudsman’s representatives were provided with the necessary information about measures undertaken by the social service institution for the rehabilitation of the repatriates.
It must be noted that the Ombudsman keeps an eye on the situation as to the repatriation of our citizens, who are facing difficulties and in need of assistance abroad. The Ombudsman, at different times, appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers and other competent state authorities of Azerbaijan to take the necessary measures in this regard.
