Representatives of Ombudsman participated at event related to gender violence

The next event of the project titled “Gender violence-tragedy of our society” was held at school No. 311 on the initiative of Sabunchu District Executive Authority.

The event was attended by staff members of the Sabunchu District Executive Authority, representatives of the Ombudsman Office Lamiya Zeynalova and Dilshad Ismayilova, the Head of Sabunchu District Youth and Sport Department, school principals, teachers, students and parents.

The schoolchildren participating in the event demonstrated plays, video clip and paintings on the topic of gender-based violence.

L.Zeynalova mentioned that the Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova attaches special importance to the issues like protection of women’s and children’s rights, fight against violence, ensuring the gender equality. She also brought into attention the wide-ranging activity of the Ombudsman to raise awareness against the cases related to domestic violence, early marriage and out-of-school children.

The students, who actively participated in the project, were presented diplomas of the Sabunchu District Youth and Sport Department.
