Events dedicated to the third anniversary of April victory were held

Events on the occasion of the third anniversary of April victory have been organized by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

An event was held with respect to this topic at the Leadership School under the Azerbaijan Child and Youth Peace Network (ACYPN), the Resource Center of the Ombudsman on Child Rights that operates under the Azerbaijan Woman and Development Center.

The event was attended by the head of department of the Ombudsman Office Faig Aghayev, the chairman of “New writers and artists” Public Union Aydinkhan Abilov, honored journalist, military servant-poet Rashad Fakhrali and others, members of the Leadership School and their parents.

F.Aghayev emphasized the significance of April victory, the liberation of important strategic positions as a result of successful counterattack by the Azerbaijani Army, the achievements in the military industry and strengthening of the military potential as a result of the successful policy proceeded under the leadership of the country President, Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev within the short period.

During the April incidents, the Ombudsman visited the settlements on the contact line of Goranboy, Naftalan, Tartar, Aghdam and Fuzuli rayons where the battle zones exist, met with the local population and witnessed the houses and social establishments destructed as a result of Armenians’ shootings and went to the liberated strategic height Lalatapa.

The guests conveyed thanks to the Commissioner for invitation to such an important event, gave broad information about the April battles that demonstrated to the world the power of our state and army, solidarity of the people and patriotism. They also highlighted the necessity of such kind of events for education of children in the spirit of patriotism and fidelity to the glorious traditions.

A patriotic anthology “Homeland is you!” with the editorship by A. Abilov was also presented. At the same time, regional centers of the Commissioner have also conducted related events. Events were organized jointly by Jalilabad Regional Center, Lankaran Regional department of the Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Lankaran City Education Department in the Lankaran city Foreign Languages Gymnasium, as well as by joint arrangement of Masalli Regional department of the Committee on Religious Associations and Yardimli District Youth and Sport Department in Hanoba village high school.

Those events were attended by authorized staff members of state bodies, intellectuals, local residents, teachers, active youth and students.

Firstly, the memory of the martyrs was commemorated in a minute of silence.

The head of the Jalilabad Regional Center Ziya Ismayilov noted the high military-patriotic spirit and moral-psychological preparation of the Azerbaijani youth, which was proved as a heroism page once again in April, 2016. This was hailed to be the beginning of the great victory of the Azerbaijani Army over the occupants and the hope by all of us for the restoration of territorial integrity of our historical lands with the new joy of victory owing to our military servicemen.  

At the end, questions of the participants were answered. After the event, graves of April martyrs were visited.
