Ombudsman submitted the Annual Report for 2018

According to the Article 14 of the Constitutional Law on the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, not later than two months after the end of each year, the annual report of the Commissioner shall be submitted to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  addressed to the Milli Mejlis, Cabinet of Ministers, Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and Prosecutor-General.

On February 28, 2019 the annual report was submitted to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the other state authorities in the manner defined by the Constitutional Law.

The annual report for 2018 reflects the Commissioner’s activity in the field of restoration of human rights and freedoms, set out in the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and international treaties which our republic is a party to, violated by state bodies, municipalities or state officials, including the rights and freedoms of different groups of population, protection of human rights and prevention of their infringement, as well as ensuring human rights, results of the awareness-raising and scientific-analytical work, relations with state authorities, public and mass media, international cooperation, also the proposals and recommendations aimed at ensuring human rights and freedoms more reliably.

Hearing of the annual report in the meeting of the Milli Mejlis is considered to be on March 5.

After the hearing, the report will be published in the press to make it available for the wide public.
