The visits by the representatives of the Ombudsman Office continue on a regular basis in accordance with the plan-schedule agreed by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova with the Command of Civil Defense Troops under the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Internal Troops Command under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The head of the Ombudsman Institute Unit for Protection of the Rights of Military Servants Fazail Hasanov and the senior advisor of the unit Murad Babayev monitored the Internal Troops Hospital under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the military unit of the Civil Defense Troops under the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Shirvan city on the basis of the plan.
The staff members of the Ombudsman Office held monitoring at all the departments of the thoroughly repaired hospital, the situation established for the examination and therapy and its organization, the state of recreation areas for the military servants receiving treatment were evaluated positively.
The representatives of the Ombudsman Office also conducted review of all facilities of the military unit of the Civil Defense Troops in Shirvan city, including barracks, food and goods warehouses, bathroom and laundry, medical unit, rooms for meeting with the soldiers. Restoration of all the facilities of that unit, condition established in the meeting room, installation the hotline for contacting with the family and relatives of the soldiers and the active mobile contact of the commander of the military unit in the meeting room have been highly appreciated. Along with this they held a discussion with the personnel on human rights, as well as the rights of the military servants, activity of the Ombudsman in this direction, current military legislation and military regulations, at the same time the celebration of 2018 as the year of the first Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, military parades organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National Army and on the liberation of Baku. They answered numerous questions of the military servants and emphasized the importance of legal education, ideological and training activities, high combat spirit and psychological state of the personnel, as well as the work to strengthen the faithfulness to the Motherland and patriotism.
In order to improve the undertaken work and ensuring the human rights of military servants, relevant recommendations were given to the command of the military unit.
