Office of the Commissioner of Azerbaijan was represented in the ENOC 22nd Annual Conference and General Assembly of the ENOC in Paris, France by Gulnar Rahimova. A member of the Azerbaijan Child and Youth Peace Network, the Ombudsman's Resource Center for Children's Rights, as well as a participant of ENOC's European Young Advisory Network (ENYA) project, Aykhan Ismailzadeh also attended the event.
Annual Conference “Children’s rights and wellbeing, promoting mental health” brought togther child rights ombudsman institutions, national human rights institutions, child rights experts from international organizations.
The Conference programme includes a wide range of activities such as plenary presentations of international, European and national standards, practices or experiences on the Conference theme; updates from ENOC members on most recent domestic activites, challenges or achievements; presentation by young people of the activities and activities and outcomes of ENYA 2018 edition of “Let’s Talk Young, Let’s Talk About Children’s Mental Health”; field visits of conference participants to a teenagers’ house, a centre for early medico-social intervention, a reception center for unaccompanied minors and to autism resource center.
During sessions and group meetings, G.Rahimova made presentations about Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s activity in the field of child rights, their enlightening and participation, hierarchic education running in secondary schools, reforms and actions taken for mental health and cooperation with social-care institutions and monitoring in those places, child rights resource centers operating at the Ombudsman Office.
A member of Leadership School Aykhan Ismayilzadeh gave information about projects on promotion of mental health that they run with his peers.
There was adopted a declaration and was elected ENOC Burea members as well as ENOC activitiy directions were discussed for the ensuing year.
