The British Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture launched a two-day training seminar in the frame of "Unlimited" project, aimed at establishing no restrictions on people with high aspirations, regardless of their ethnicity or physical capabilities.
The main goal of the project was to explain the principles of equality and accessibility of persons with disabilities (PWDs), to understand and use appropriate and polite language, to identify barriers faced by PWDs and to identify ways to overcome these barriers, as well as to describe alternative options for inclusion. The speakers at this seminar were Barbara Lisiki, Access manager at 2012 London Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games and by Zoi Partington, JODI Award Winner and an instructor of Shape Arts.
Training organized for relevant government agencies, specialized NGOs and media representatives and PWDs. Aydan Talibova, Senior Advisor represented the Azerbaijan Ombudsman's Office in the training seminar. She gave information about Ombudsman’s activity in the relevant field, including Ombudsman’s proposals for improving the legal framework for the rights of PWDs as well as awareness-raising activities on advocacy and advocacy in the media.
