Ombudsman, UNICEF, Academies of Justice and Police arrange three-day capacity building training on justice for children and fair trial for judges, prosecutors, lawyers, judiciary, probation, police, justice and local executoral authorities in Sheki.
These trainings are important for skills development in fair trial for juveniles, evaluation of effects of juvenile justice reforms on children in conflit with the law, framing new approaches in the work of the Commissions on Affairs and Protection of the Rights of Minors as well as elimination of the existed problems.
Ombudsman’s representative, Rashid Rumzada delivered presentation on juvenile justice giving information on SPT, CPT recommendations, procedures for juveniles accused of a crime, organization of the work with minors engaged in unlawful behaviour and Ombudsman’s monitoring to detention places as an NPM. “The Commissioner made number of initiatives to support improvements in the legislation in relation to this issue” added Mr. R. Rumzada.
