National Preventive Group carried out visit to Investigation Isolator No. 2

National Preventive Group paid a visit to Investigation Isolator located in Ganja under the Penitentiary Service without notice.

During private meeting with the accused, some of them raised concerns that their applications have not been delivered and about how the investigation processes dealing with their cases were undergone. The accused were given legal advice and some newly written applications have been taken with.  

The other concerns in the detention facility was about inadequate custody condition, such as the building of the facility was old, which caused to impediments and over-crowdedness in cells, therefore it was deemed necessary to amplify the construction of penitentiary facilities in Ganja.

The administration of the facility was given necessary recommendations.  The Ministry of Justice will be requested with the concerned.
