Commissioner received Russian Ambassador

The Commissioner for human rights received the Russian ambassador accredited to Azerbaijan, Mr. Michail Bocharnikov and Mr. Andrej Mixalskiy, accompanying him at their request.

At the meeting issues like the Ombudsman’s activity in human rights field in the country, protection of the rights of the vulnerable groups, bilateral cooperation agreements between Azerbaijani human rights institution and some of RF Subjects, enhancement work of public stakeholders, friendly cooperation in the field of human rights between two countries, especially aid in extradition and deportation cases, joint investigations in detention places, public hearing running throughout the country. The Commissioner noted also the necessity to solve the issues regarding the movement or country entry and exit system in the context of family reunification.       

In the course of the discussions, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, legal status of the Caspian Sea and international cooperation issues have also been at the center of discussions.
