The Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova, members of the Leadership School under the Child and Youth Peace Network, the child rights resource center, pupils of secondary schools in Baku visited the freed Jojug Marjanli village of the occupied Jabrayil region.
Firstly, the Ombudsman, Heads of Fuzuli and Jabrail District Executive Authorities Ali Aliyev and Kamal Hasanov visited the memorial to the Martyrs in Horadiz, expressing deep respect to the martyrs' dignity.
The Commissioner met with soldiers and officers serving at the front line and congratulated them on the occasion of Mr. Ilham Aliyev's re-election as President of the country as a result of fair, transparent elections held in April this year in our country. She spoke about the importance of the victory gained in April 2016, the good news of the first victory and expressed her confidence that all our occupied territories will be liberated.
Coming to Jojug Marjanli, the Commissioner together with the head of Jabrayil District Executive Office visited secondary school named after Novruz Aslanov and met with teachers and students, parents and villagers. In her speech, the Commissioner highlighted that Armenian policy is an aggressive policy, the integral part of Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding areas were occupied, over one million compatriots became refugees and IDPs and their rights have been grossly violated; eventually, some programs regarding increasing of their life standards are being implemented. Furthermore, the Ombudsman presented to school child Ensyclopedia, as well as intellectual ensyclopedias “Brief Islam Ensyclopedia” and “I want to know these” suggesting to benefit from those books and use them in education process, and to learn russian and other foreign languages.
As part of her visit to Jojuq Marjanli, Ombudsman visited to front line of the military unit “X” and met with soldiers and officers serving at the front line and familiarized with their service and living conditions.
It should be noted that the letter written to the soldiers at the front line, initiated by a member of the Leadership School, 7th grade student of technical-humanitarian lyceum No. 2 named after Habibbay Mahmudbeyov,13-year-old Askerov Zaur carried out in the frame of the Campaign "Letter to Soldier" together with high schoolmates, was welcomed.
Also, E.Suleymanova visited newly constructed mosque, which was similar to Shusha mosque and the family of Oktay Haziyev, who became martyr in 1994.
At the end of the visit, the Commissioner gave an interview to the local media highlighting the recent year reforms to increase decent life of the inhabitants of Fuzuli.
