Ombudsman’s representative attended conference on inclusive education

International Conference entitled "Inclusive Higher Education: International Trends and UNEC Experience" was held in the Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC).

Mugalib Mahmudov, Ombudsman’s specialised advisor on the rights of persons with disabilities also attended the conference.

He spoke about the legal reforms implemented recently to ensure that persons with disabilities have the right to education freely, without obstacles and any discrimination with equal conditions for all and the Commissioner's work in this regard who pays close attention to protection of the rights of these persons.

He shared his views on the obstacles and ways of their solution in the field of rehabilitation, inclusive education and community integration of persons with disabilities.

It was noted that the Commissioner made proposals for the establishment of specialized rehabilitation institutions, surveillance and logistics enters, inclusive education institutions for persons with disabilities and the training of psycho-pedagogical and social workers, also specialized doctors in various fields of medicine.
