International expert Monica Das Gupta was received at the Ombudsman

International expert Monica Das Gupta who is Azerbaijan for developing national Action Plan for Elimination of breaches in the sex ratio among births in Azerbaijan was received in Azerbaijan.

Aydin Safikhanli, Head of Azerbaijan Ombudsman Office gave information about the state programs and national Action Plans adopted in the country on women rights and gender equality, effective cooperation built with international and regional organizations, Ombudsman’s work for protection of women rights, ensuring gender equality, restoration of violated rights of women.

Ombudsman’s advisor for gender issues, Lamiya Zeynalova noted Ombudsman built her activity on 12 priority directions of Beijing Action Platform which includes analysis of national legislation from the gender perspective, organization of gender studies at secondary and high schools, supporting active women participation in public life, developing state programs for ensuring equal opportunities among women and men etc.
