Series of events on human rights are being continued on the eve of 10 December -International Human Rights Day. Next events were delivered by Rashid Rumzade, head of Ombudsman’s National Preventive Group on “Ombudsman’s Activity as a Human Rights Defender and National Preventive Mechanism” for persons admitted to the Ministry of Justice, Penitentiary Service and Medical Service.
He informed participants about the legal reforms carried out in the country, improvement of legislation, its conformity with international standards, achievements in this regard, as well as Ombudsman’s activity as an effective human rights protection mechanism.
He also focused on reforms carried out in the national legislation following Ombudsman’s initiatives and proposals, treatment and detention conditions of persons in places which they cannot leave on their will, practical approaches towards them and correction models as well as provisions of the Constitutional law on Ombudsman.
