Upon the instruction of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Ombudsman’s National Preventive Group (NPG) conducted planned monitoring in orphanage of Lankaran City Executive Power.
The aim of the visit was to investigate living conditions of children, treatment issues and the state of ensuring their rights.
During the visit with participation of NPG members and social worker involved as an expert, all objects, including bedrooms, class, canteen and kitchen etc were monitored, work done for ensuring child rights were investigated.
In order to investigate treatment issues, children, administration of the facility, children, tutors, psychologist and medical staff were interviewed.
It was concluded that living condition, nutrition, food supply, medical service and the state of ensuring other rights in the facility were evaluated as satisfactory.
Administration and staff of the facility was given necessary recommendations to increase the attention to implementation of child rights, further development of the work in this regard and documentation.
