Aydin Safikhanli, Head of the Ombudsman Office and a number of staff members had a study trip to Germany within the third component of Twinning Project entitled Ombudsman Institutions capacity to implement Law on Access to Information is strengthened.
During the trip they were in the Office of German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, German Federal Ministry of the Interior, German Foreign Office, the Berlin Administrational Court, Office of Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information and Saxon Data Protection Commissioner’s Office.
At meetings the activity of these bodies on data protection and freedom of information, received applications, work done in this regard, best practices were discussed.
Participants gave information about the reforms carried out in the country for protection of human rights, multi-dimensional activity of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, cooperation with state bodies, courts, NGOs, as well as work done within the framework of the competences regarding the supervision function over the implementation of Law on Access to Information.
Members of the Ombudsman Office also visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, gave information about the twinning Project and had exchange of views.
