Representative of the Ombudsman Office attended international seminar

On 6-7 July, 2017 seminar was held on Methods and Practices related to the Implementation of Readmission Agreements within the framework of the Project “Strengthening the Capacity on Migration and Border Management in Azerbaijan implemented by International Migration Organization with financial support of EU.

Rashad Novruzov, Head of the Unit of the Ombudsman Office attended the event.

During discussions, he spoke about the activity of the Azerbaijani Commissioner on protection of human rights and freedoms, including the rights of refugees, IDPs, migrants.

He added that Ombudsman and her staff regularly monitor the places of administrative detention of irregular migrants located in Baku and Yevlakh cities, learn the condition, treatment of detainees, their nourishment, medical aid provides to them and help them within the framework of the Commissioner’s competences.
