Meeting was held at the Ombudsman Office with co-rapporteur of PACE

Cezar Florin Preda, co-rapporteur of PACE Monitoring Committee was received at the Ombudsman Office.

Aydin Safikhanly, Head of the Ombudsman Office informed the guest about the directions of the activity of the Ombudsman Office, work carried out for protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms, cooperation with international organizations, including CoE and joint projects implemented within the framework of this cooperation.

Rashid Rumzadeh, Head of the Department of the Ombudsman Office and of National Preventive Group talked about the visits held to the places, which persons is not permitted to leave at will, including penitentiary institutions, recommendations given in accordance of international and local standards, the status of their implementation etc.

Moreover, reforms carried out in the places of deprivation of liberty upon the proposals of the Commissioner, recommendations on improvement of custody conditions and treatment in those facilities also were highlighted during the meeting.
