Within the framework of Twinning project component on strengthening the work of Ombudsman Office, a training was held on Ombudsman’s Ganja Regional Center on “The Role and Mandate of Regional Ombudsmen in Europe” by Resident Advisor of the Project Vulf Roever and the representatives of Greece Ombudsman Office Yiannis Boutselis and Lanbrus Baritionis.
Head of the Regional Center, Sabuhi Abbasov briefed trainers about the activity directions, work principles of regional centers, as well as the work carried out within the framework of NPM mandate, the practice in this regard and cooperation with different international organizations.
Experts gave broad information about National and Regional Ombudsman Institutes functioning in many European countries, their work principles with state bodies, communities, municipalities, as well as about the investigation of applications, monitorings, and networking with civil society organizations.
