An event dedicated to International Day of Monuments and Historical Places

An event dedicated to International Day of Monuments and Historical Places was held at Ombudsman resource center for the elderly functioning at Azerbaijan Woman and Development Center.

The Commissioner the aim of celebrating this day is to draw the attention to people to protection of monuments and historical places. She added historical monuments are kind of a bridge from the past to the future each monument preserves the culture, mentality and style of thinking of the period to which they belong.

Representative of State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage noted there are 6308 historical monuments in Azerbaijan out of which 65 are of world, 2034 are of country and 4209 are of local importance.
