Internship of Master degree students at the Ombudsman Office ended

Internship of master’s degree students of Faculty of “Political Management” of the State Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan started their internship with the Ombudsman Office has ended.

In the final meeting with students the Commissioner gave broad information about the establishment of the Ombudsman Institute in Azerbaijan, her mandate, competences and multi-dimensional activity in the field of human rights.

In the course of the internship, the internees learned about universal human rights principles, international as well as national human rights protection mechanism, activities of the Ombudsman in various fields of human rights, National Preventive Mechanism visits to the penitentiary institutions, along with the national and international human rights legislation, historical background of the Ombudsman Office.

Internees also got familiar with the work of each Unit of the Office, participated in reception of applicants.

At the end, the interns received recommendation letters by the Ombudsman.

Until now, in general, 290 bachelor’s and master’s degree students have completed their internship and got recommendations, accordingly.
