The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, had a meeting with members of the "Femida Volunteers" organization.
During the meeting, the Ombudsman provided detailed information about the establishment history and activities of the Institution. The Ombudsman pointed out that she especially focuses on legal education activities to promote legal thinking and legal culture in society. It was also said that various events on human rights were organized as a part of the approved action plan by the Ombudsman.
Outlining the expansion of her mandate in accordance with international human rights standards, the Ombudsman spoke about amendments to the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan and reforms aimed at optimizing the structure of the Office.
Emphasizing the significant development of youth and volunteering activities in the country, the Ombudsman said that volunteers actively participate in the activities in various structural divisions of the Office. It was also highlighted that the youngsters who are educating at the undergraduate and graduate degree levels are also involved in internships and scientific research.
At the meeting, detailed information was provided about the Ombudsman’s proposals for improving legislation, inquiries sent to the Constitutional Court, and reports addressed to international organizations for the conveyance of the truths about Azerbaijan to the global community.
Overall, the questions of the participants were answered.
