The Ombudsman’s representatives participated in the conference on “Environmental Safety and the Green World”

The Prosecutor-General Office organized a business conference on “Environmental Safety and Green World” within the framework of a range of measures as 2024 was declared “Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan. 

Mahir Mammadov and Mugalib Mahmudov, two heads of units at the Department for Cooperation with International and Civil Society Organizations in the Ombudsman Office, took part in the conference.  

At the event, speaking about the topic of “Protection of Environment and Human Rights,” M. Mahmudov gave information about the Ombudsman’s activities in ensuring ecological rights, saying that the Ombudsman appealed to the international human rights organizations about ecological crimes committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan. Furthermore, in the current year, within the framework of COP29, he pointed out that the Ombudsman Office to be held legal awareness events.    

During the conference, the participants planted trees in the “Heydar Aliyev Park” in Sumgayit city within this Green World Solidarity Year.”
